For months, 45, the LAZIEST person to EVER occupy the Oval Office, a pos who has spent fully 1/3 of his first 11 months in office ON VACATION, even lying about when he is playing golf, which has been virtually every weekend since the inauguration, has said over and over again how much work he has gotten done (cough), how much he has achieved (choke) and specifically that he has signed a record number of bills (call 911).
Yesterday, taking a few minutes out of his busy schedule of tweeting, eating and choosing the day’s golf attire, 45 made a visit to a local firehouse near his mir-a-lego cash cow/donor meet-up dive bar, where he ignored the firefighters to lavish the usual praise on ….. himself.
Amongst his usual litany of lies, 45 said the following:
“We have signed more legislation than anybody, …We have more legislation passed, including – the record was Harry Truman a long time ago, and we broke that record, so we got a lot done.”
But this comes only a couple of days after a report from GovTrack.us (a site that tracks bills in Congress) which tracked the actual number of bills signed into law by each of the last NINE presidents, going back to the last great republican, Dwight David Eisenhower, and guess what? 45 is DEAD LAST in number of bills signed among presidents over the last 64 years during their first year in office! See the chart they so painstakingly prepared:
One must also consider the nature the bills that have passed through Congress and sent to the Oval Office for signature. Of course, not all bills are equal (exactly how many of the bills that 45 has signed were to re-name Post Offices?). GovTrack.us has stated that the size of a bill is a valuable tool in determine its impact and importance, and thus that by measuring the total number of pages in bills passed and signed, more insight can be found that by merely looking at the number of bills. When examining the number of pages in the bills signed, say between 45 and President Barack Obama over their respective first one hundred days in office, one sees that Obama signed 15 TIMES as many pages of legislation than had 45, and at the current points in their presidency’s, Obama out numbers 45, 3,473 pages of legislation to 2,038 pages for 45.
On must also consider the vast number of one or two page bills enacted by Congress and signed by 45 that did NOTHING MORE THAN REPEAL legislation enacted during the Obama presidency.
Besides the issues related to padding, this raises the actual important issues involved in all of this, the nature of the bills signed by 45, bills that do nothing more than continue 45’s race to inflict pain and suffering on the middle and working class, the elderly, the disabled, the unfortunate and all of those in need. and plant life for thousands of years to come, and not explode into a fiery blaze in a few short decades, and that wants historic institutions such as the Dept of Justice, the EPA, the FDA, and so many others, to continue to be able to do the outstanding work they have done for in some cases centuries, and not be emasculated and pointed to return the county to dangerous, painful unequal times we all thought had been removed to only be seen in the study of history.
The fact is, let 45 lie about his “achievements” as the less he actually does, the far better off we all are.
