Progressives: Don’t Drink the Jill Stein KoolAid

There is a strong movement to co-opt Bernie Sanders supporters and other Progressives to the jill stein Green Party camp. DO NOT BE FOOLED – many of her values and her beliefs are anathema to true Progressive beliefs and to Bernie supporters.

A lot can been seen about stein by her pick for vice president, Ajamu Baraka, and what he has said about Bernie, who Baraka has called a Racist, an Imperialist, and a supporter of Saudi Arabian Terrorism:

“For Bernie and his supporters, the mischief that the Saudi government and private individuals have been engaged in across the region financing groups like ISIS wasn’t dirty enough

“This is the world that a President Sanders promises—continued war crimes from the sky with drone strikes and Saudi led terror in support of the Western imperial project…”

Stein has produced an onslaught of vile criticism against Hillary Clinton, rivaling that of trump, fox fixed news noise and the rest of the loyal gop base of liars and deceivers. Stein

has lied over and over again about the ridiculous email “scandal”, actually saying that the FBI investigation has incriminated Clinton and that she should be criminally prosecuted.

That crap does one thing and one thing only - it strengthens trump’s presidential campaign.
Of course, stein fails to mention that her description of the actions of Clinton are EXACTLY the same as what was done regarding emails by Clinton’s predecessors as Secretary of State, c. rice and Colin Powell, or that the FIRST Secretary of State to EVER use a .gov email account was Clinton’s successor John Kerry, or that rules requiring such email protections were not passed until almost a year AFTER Clinton left office.

Then there is the campaign finance issue, like, where is stein getting her contributions? Well, according to DailyKos.com, from the same type of giant corporate interests for which Clinton has been criticized. According to DailyKos.com, who is stain’s number one campaign contributor? Why it’s AON, one of the world’s largest risk management and reinsurance providers, with offices in 120 countries around the world and with $5 Billion in yearly profits. Other contributors in her top five include IBM and UPS.

So, if all that corporate money corrupts Clinton, is stein immune from such corruption?

Finally, at a time when trump’s ties to Russia and his love affair with Vladimir Putin are constantly in the news, a lot needs to be looked at about stain’s own ties to and support of pro-Russian interests. stein has said that the US should NOT arm the Ukraine in their attempts to wrestle free of Russian control, and she has said that there should be no expansion of NATO as that would threaten Russia. Really? In fact, she has said that NATO HAS threatened Russia:

“The United States, under Bush 1, had an agreement when Germany joined NATO – Russia agreed with the understanding that NATO would not move one inch to the east. Since then NATO has pursued a policy of basically encircling Russia – including the threat of nukes and drones and so on.”

But, then again, stein is a seasoned professional political, right? WRONG. Her one and only elected offices was to that of Lexington, Mass “Town Meeting Representative” in 2005, when she received the grand total of 539 votes to be elected. In the spirit of honesty, she was re-elected in 2008, but her vote count for that race is unavailable.
As are her tax returns, which also like trump, she refuses to release.

And finally, in the spirit of Newt Gingrich and Ben Carson, it seems that stein’s real motive in running for president is Profit – as did they. DailyKos.com indicates that stain is making a nice little profit off of her “presidential” campaign.

About theHoundDawg

For many years as a lawyer, I saw much of the good and bad of society, and did what I could to right many wrongs. The lack of understanding of what is good and bad, right and wrong, just and unjust, as evidenced by such events as the election of King W as president, (who as such far surpassed the evil of richard nixon but not quite that of ronald reagan) lead me in a new direction, to spend my time trying to understand what is happening to our society, to try as best I can to spread my insights to others, and along the way to maybe even eke out a living through the internet.
