I’m writing this the day after the messenger was vilified, insulted, and of course, shot. But none of that makes the message untrue, and despite it all, the messenger lives.
On Monday, June 20, two matters concerning the trump came to life, and yesterday, I posted in a couple of places on Facebook the mere fact of one of them, that it was reported and that if proved true, could be the issue that finally derails the until now
It is standard operating procedure for the gop faithful when faced with a harmful issue regarding which there is no defense, to immediately change the subject by alleging some unrelated issue they feel hurts your side or your candidate – “yea, but” your guy is just as bad or worse. So, of course the conversation was directed away from trump and to Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton, and if given the chance, probably the disappearance of Judge Crater.
Along the way, of course these people also threw in the obligatory denial of the allegation made in the lawsuit. As I posted later in the day, the response took this route:
- It’s a phony story;
- It’s a phony story because a “tabloid” first reported it;
- The plaintiff made it up;
- I made it up;
- But Hillary did this, that, and that other thing;
- But Bill did this, that, and that other thing;
- It doesn’t matter – the trump will be POTUS;
- ad nauseaum …
The main stream media, however, has totally ignored the story. Gee, I really wonder why?
As the messenger-killers went on their rants, one of their themes was the “FACT” that no upstanding republican or trump supporter would ever make such an unfounded allegation against a Democrat, not even against Bill Clinton. Well, these are the FACTS, ma’am: The trump rape narrative involves a party hosted by infamous predator, Jeffrey Epstein, who back then when the “alleged” rape occurred was associated with such events involving underage girls and various celebrities, and who, despite numerous investigations, escaped prosecution until ultimately convicted of a single count of soliciting child prostitution, in 2008, for which he served a 13 month sentence.
Over the years, many gop insiders and pundits attempted, with no success, to link Epstein’s illegal activities to President Bill Clinton. So, guess what? Just a couple of months ago, there was a renewed effort, let by super-reactionary pseudo-legit pundit Hugh Hewitt again to link Clinton to Epstein’s activities for the purpose of harming Hillary
Back to yesterday. The critics picked apart the story wherever and on whatever they could, from the fact that the Rawstory.com website was privately registered (like no one or no business EVER does that) to the fact that the plaintiff did file a prior lawsuit based on the same allegations that was dismissed, failing of course to comprehend or state that the earlier suit had been filed by the plaintiff herself without a lawyer and that the dismissal was due to numerous procedural errors, like having the wrong address on paperwork and filing in the wrong court, and not on the merits.
It is a real lawsuit and here are the specifics: Jane Doe v trump, United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, Case No, 1:2016cv04642, Nature of Suit: Assault, Libel, and Slander
The second matter that came out on Monday has been much more widely reported and discussed, and has hit some of the main stream media, and that is the trumps latest FEC Campaign Finance Disclosure Statement, and that is a doozy!
What has been the lead story for most outlets is the more minor story of how little cash on hand the trump campaign actually has – $1,289,507, but there are many much bigger stories in the documentation, which can be viewed on the FEC website here.
The first thing that strikes a viewer of the paperwork is the fact that yes, trump has turned over his own money to his campaign, to the tune of $45,703,185, but that this sum was not a donation, but a loan. Keep that in mind. But the biggest issues that the filling raise revolve around a slew of payments made to trump-owned businesses and back to trump himself. As described first by dailykos.com, the trump campaign has been paying trump a salary, to the tune of about $2,750 per week, to run for president!
Yep, trump is an employee of his own campaign, taking home more than $10,000 per month, to run for president.
Second, again as totaled up by dailykos.com, the trump campaign has paid out to trump
|businesses, including many others, trump tower, trump grill, trump ice, trump payroll corp, trump plaza and trump restaurants LLC, in excess of $6 Million.
This can all be viewed on the FEC website here, by clicking on II. DISBURSEMENTS > Operating Expenditures and then beginning
So, by loaning his campaign money, the campaign has cash to pay trump a salary and spend lavishly at trump tower, trump restaurants, etc, likely eventually up to, oh, I don’t know, maybe $45,703,185, and then, at the end, when outside donors have made their contributions to the campaign, trump will then be paid back his loan, in the end doubling his investment in little more than a year (the first loan was made in October of 2015 – The loan dates can be viewed on the FEC Website by clicking on I. RECEIPTS > Candidate Loans).
Well, the gop faithful can rip apart the messenger as much as they want, but it does not change the facts, and the facts are more than damning to the trump. And don’t even try to change the subject.
