Catching Up A Bit – Thoughts Re November, 2016

Note: I have been away from blogging, here and on other blogs, due to the bulk of my time being taken up by a four-month-long major project, that is now behind me. My absence here had nothing to do with blogging, politics, or anything other than my total lack of available time to research, write and post.

The Presidential election race is over. The next presidency was won yesterday through the magnificent performance of Hillary Clinton, provided for all the world to see, in a room full of functional, ultra-partisan illiterates.

d. trump continues to take questions from the press and from the public at event after event, yet no one will ask him the two questions that when exposed will end his presidential run:

About his being sued twice by the US Department of Justice for his long patterns of racial discrimination in housing, i.e. for his refusing to rent any of his thousands of New York apartments to African-Americans, and about his sham, fraudulent trump university scam, in which thousands of people were defrauded and for which the first of perhaps hundreds of judgements has been been issued against him personally for his fraudulent scheme.

Never before has there been a public figure so educated and brilliant in one field yet so utterly and totally ignorant and uninformed regarding everything else in life and in

the world, as Ben Carson. The question regarding the book he is promoting is not who wrote it for him, but rather, who read it to him. The man is an absolute disgrace to the medical profession and his level of success says so much about an uninformed partisan political party whose members can support such a person who is totally incapable of handling the duties of any elected
office, let alone the presidency. Perhaps the trump smokescreen has let a lot of this slip by, and perhaps some percent of Carson supporters are just plain oblivious to what a misinformed, fanatic he is.

Back to trump – how is he also getting a virtual total pass on the fact that he LIED about not fundraising and financing his own campaign, when it has now been revealed that 2/3 of what his campaign has spent has been from public donations? Of course, he’s lied about EVERYTHING so why should this be any different?

Looking beyond the incompetent, blusterous non-politicians who lead the gop race, it is scary, very scary, to see the next group of professional politicians who are in line to actually win their nomination – a group of ultra-partisans who would destroy what is left of the real American way of life that managed to withstand the onslaught of reagan and w. Looking at them, even trump might actually be a better choice.

The state of Alabama has moved to the forefront of prejudice, partisanship, and pervasive disgusting behavior. First they pass a voter ID law so that poor, non drivers cannot vote

unless they obtain a driver’s license or an equivalent, and now they have closed ALL of the DMV offices in every county - 28 in all - in which there is a significant number of potential African-American and/or poor voters, and where President Obama received voting support in the past elections. Now in response to the outcry - an insufficient outcry, but an outcry no less - the gop governor in charge of this outrage, has
Call Now: 877-397-5171
magnanimously decreed that each county will have a single driver’s license facility open one wonderful day per month. Wow. In an interview with the governor that I saw a couple of weeks ago, he touted a mobile unit that travels the state issuing licenses saying this is wonderfully successful and takes up the slack of the shuttered offices. When pressed for information, he eventually admitted that over several months of operation, the mobile unit had issued less than 30 licenses.

Politics as usual, all around, as the people suffer needlessly.

About theHoundDawg

For many years as a lawyer, I saw much of the good and bad of society, and did what I could to right many wrongs. The lack of understanding of what is good and bad, right and wrong, just and unjust, as evidenced by such events as the election of King W as president, (who as such far surpassed the evil of richard nixon but not quite that of ronald reagan) lead me in a new direction, to spend my time trying to understand what is happening to our society, to try as best I can to spread my insights to others, and along the way to maybe even eke out a living through the internet.

  1. Don Overlin says:

I only wish the media would speak these truths! It’s like the global warming argument, even though the media knows the truth, they allow fiction to have a say in the conversation. In the end the Republicans will all swear they weren’t part of the phony arguments just like when they all became so called Libertarians after their man Bush destroyed the economy..
