Democrats and Independents: We Must SAVE THE SENATE!

The last few years have seen the mockery made of the Congressional hearing system by lunatic tea party whack jobs in general and Darrell Issa in particular, with costly, time consuming hearing after hearing, fueled by promises of findings of wrongdoing that only exists in their own minds and in the lies they spew forth to their fox fixed news noise overlords, and to the public. When they bother to show up for work, which thankfully is not often. The least productive Congress in history is about to end with a disgusting record of failure and gridlock and obstinance and partisanship never, ever before seen in our history. With significant problems facing the citizenry in economic matters, in health care needs, in firearm safety, in environmental matters, in foreign affairs, and in having a government that can run itself on a daily basis to the country’s betterment, what has this Congress concerned itself with? Why bill after bill to roll back health care reform and to limit the Constitutional right to choose.

What could possibly be worse, you ask? Well a US Senate populated by a majority of the same kind of partisan demagogues who care not one whit for the people or their needs, but who put their religious beliefs and their party's positions of protecting and further enriching the rich, denying the necessities of life for the aged, the disabled, the needy, privatizing every government service they can get their paws, on from prisons to schools to the post office to social security, and the holy grail of deregulation, above all else.
gridlock and reactionary powers that guarantees to promote nothing but suffering for millions of people, including the most vulnerable and most needy?

We’ve seen the “Red State Experiment” of Kansas, the similar transformations in states like Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, Virginia, and the long list of the rest of them, and it has been a disaster, and the voters of those states, beginning last November in Virginia and continuing tomorrow, are poised to throw out the perpetrators as the y seek a return

to normalcy, fairness, and the rights of ALL the people of their states, including the most basic right to vote.

That's one reason why it is so mystifying as to why the polls and the pundits say that these gop lunatics may well gain control of the Senate after the final counts of tomorrow's elections. Do people want to hand over their lives to

Do we want a Senate controlled by a Joni Ernst who will use her little Smith & Wesson to take out government agents who are enforcing policies and laws contrary to her own? Do we want a Senate controlled by a Thom Tillis who will deny health care and an education to those who cannot afford it? Do we want a Senate controlled by a Scott Brown who says that ebola is an airborne disease and direct contact with a victim is not needed to contract the disease and who would enforce draconian laws to avoid a non-existent epidemic?

Do we want a reactionary amendment repealing health care reform, limiting unemployment benefits, restricting abortion rights, or rolling back environmental regulations attached to every single bill passed in the Senate?

People, use your brains! Look at these candidates and see what and who they are, and vote for YOUR interests, not for what and who benefits the Koch Bros., Sheldon Adelson, and the ghost of Harold Simmons.

About theHoundDawg

For many years as a lawyer, I saw much of the good and bad of society, and did what I could to right many wrongs. The lack of understanding of what is good and bad, right and wrong, just and unjust, as evidenced by such events as the election of King W as president, (who as such far surpassed the evil of richard nixon but not quite that of ronald reagan) lead me in a new direction, to spend my time trying to understand what is happening to our society, to try as best I can to spread my insights to others, and along the way to maybe even eke out a living through the internet.
