The words spoken:
“I have a beautiful little Smith & Wesson, 9 millimeter, and it goes with me virtually everywhere. But I do believe in the right to carry, and I believe in the right to defend myself and my family — whether it’s from an intruder, or whether it’s from the government, should they decide that my rights are no longer important.”
The recording of the words being spoken, to a crowd at the NRA and Iowa Firearms Coalition Second Amendment Rally in Searsboro, Iowa. on Aug. 25, 2012, a month after the Aurora, Colorado mass shooting in which 12 people were killed and another 70 wounded:
Is the woman saying these things some psycho, who wears an aluminum foil hat and thinks the world is flat? Maybe, but she is also Joni Ernst, the republican candidate for the US Senate from the state of Iowa. And, what is scarier, that she won the gop nomination, or that as of Oct 23., the latest Quinnipiac poll has her leading her democratic opponent, Bruce Braley, by two points, 48 to 46?
Where is the OUTRAGE? How can these people say things like this? In 2010, the gop candidate for US Senate from Nevada, Sharron Angle, said very similar things, and though she lost the election, she did receive 45% of the vote. She had said, in that campaign, that if her side lost at the ballot box, that they would resort to “Second Amendment Remedies”:
“You know, our Founding Fathers, they put that Second Amendment in there for a good reason and that was for the people to protect themselves against a tyrannical government.”
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
It’s time to stop tolerating this crap and tell these STUPID IDIOTS to shut the fuck up about taking arms against OUR government.
Where are the REAL patriots?
Where is the vacant, scared-shitless-to-offend-their base republican leadership in this country?
