20 Years Ago, the Lying, Cheating, Stealing dick cheney Said NO!

dick cheney, the architect of george w bush’s foreign policy, domestic policy, and douche policy, formulated most every major aspect of the disaster that was the invasion of Iraq and the attempt to manage the country in the aftermath. Today, cheney not only continues to say that the invasion of Iraq was the right thing to do, but of course he blames President Obama for the crumbling of the artificial government and unstable society that they pieced together with popsicle sticks and Elmer’s Glue.

Yet, when george h. w. bush ended the First Gulf War, with no attempt to remove Saddam Hussein and with no attempt to dismantle their centuries-old society in an effort to re-make it to fit his image of an illusionary democracy, it was cheney who vociferously backed the position of george h w bush, arguing that there was no way to replace Saddam Hussein's government were it removed, and that a quagmire would ensue, with parts of Iraq splintering off, in alliances with Iran and Syria, and with the Kurds aligning with Turkey.

He also, prophetically, stated that the cost in American
Cheney's War Crimes: The Reign of a De Facto President
lives that would be lost to remove Saddam Hussein would be far too many to make such an effort worthwhile.

Amazingly, there is tape of cheney saying all of that:

Cheney did not follow his own advice, and he and w committed offenses against the people of the United States far, far worse than what their administration did in Iraq.

The single biggest failing of the Obama administration was the failure to fully investigate the crimes of george w bush, dick cheney, donald rumsfeld, condolezza rice, dick armitage, alberto gonzales, john negroponte, l. paul bremer, john yoo, george tenet, and the rest, and prosecute the lot of them to the fullest extent of the law. About theHoundDawg

For many years as a lawyer, I saw much of the good and bad of society, and did what I could to right many wrongs. The lack of understanding of what is good and bad, right and wrong, just and unjust, as evidenced by such events as the election of King W as president, (who as such far surpassed the evil of richard nixon but not quite that of ronald reagan) lead me in a new direction, to spend my time trying to understand what is happening to our society, to try as best I can to spread my insights to others, and along the way to maybe even eke out a living through the internet.

If the “First Gulf War” is in reference to what is known as Desert Shield/Storm, I believe the objective was to get Iraq out of Kuwait, not take out Saddam.

Exactly, and george h w kept it to that, despite many people calling for the invasion of Iraq and Saddam Hussein’s removal. Here, back in 1994, cheney is defending that position with all the arguments george w ignored and that he himself soon thereafter totally contradicted. george h w’s position, and what cheney said in 1994, has certainly been demonstrated to be 100% correct.
